Pressure Forming Helps Light Sheer Hair removal system Shine in I.D. Magazine's Annual Design Review
With
a cabinet as smooth as a hairless thigh the Lightsheer Slowly crept under
the skin of a panel
unmoved at first by the problem of removing unsightly body hair. But
the care taken by Lunar's design team to match aesthetic with utilitarian
ones gradually eroded the jurors' Skepticism about cosmetic surgeries,
Sleek and almost featureless in response, the Star Medical Lightsheer
Unfolds into a thoughtfully integrated operating solution. Featuring
advance Diode Laser Technology a Strategically angled handpiece, umbilical
cables instead of mechanical arms, and a tilt and swivel console and
an energy efficient power supply. "It Just looks terribly well-thought
out," Says Riley of the $150,000 unit, whose small footprint, low
weight and liquid seals Make moving or shipping the Lightsheer relatively
easy." I also admire the color contrasts on the recessed handles
and the protected buttons.

Pressure forming was a key contributor to the success of this design
providing key components such as the tilt and swivel LCD display. Also
Pressure Forming's light weight and high impact strength were highly
useful for the interior panels that support the laser and umbilical
cables for transport since the unit is designed to be broken down and
moved from office to office.
