Jim has been a member of SPE and the Thermoforming Division
Since 1960.
He started his career in selling thermoplastic sheet in 1961. In 1965,
He along with Milo Hanson started Alchem Plastics in California, then in Georgia,
Texas, New Jersey and Missouri. He started co-extruding multilayer sheet in HIS, ABS, Polyethylene and Acrylic ABS sheet. These plants developed into a major sheet extrusion company. Alchem Plastics was sold to Spartech Plastics in 1980 and He remained as President of Alchem/Spartech until 1984. In 1985, he started Agile Enterprises (an extruder of Acrylic, Polystyrene and Propylene sheet) and was President until 1987. In 1987 he became President of Alplastic (a roll fed thermoformer and sheet
Extruder) and remained there until 1991 when the company was sold. In 1991, he joined Primex Plastics as Western Regional Manager and National Marketing Manager. In June of 1998 he started Armor & Associates, selling thermoplastic sheet which he is still active in today.
Jim has been active in the Thermoforming Division for many years as
Member of Board of Director’s having served several times as Materials Committee
Chairman. Has given many talks to various SPE groups on various plastic sheet
thermoforming applications. He was presented the “Outstanding Board” member
in 2003. He is a member of The Plastics Pioneers, in California. |
