Joe
Peters is the second generation President of Universal
Plastics Corporation. He has over 30 years
experience in heavy gauge Thermoforming having worked
at Universal since its founding in 1966. He has been
involved in all aspects of the process, but spent most
of his years in design Engineering which he studied at
Western New England College. He succeeded his father,
James R. Peters, Sr., as President in 1990. Universal
currently employs 90 people in two facilities, specializing
in the tight tolerance pressure and thermoforming of
cosmetic multi-component products for many industries
including electronics, medical, photographic, and aircraft.
Under his direction, Universal has begun manufacturing
13´ kayaks from 100% post consumer-recycled polyethylene.
Joe is very interested in becoming an active member of
SPE Thermoforming board. He has worked to advance our
industry by speaking before numerous groups including
local SPE chapters and other Engineering groups, and
our own SPE Thermoforming Conference in 1997. |
