Barry is the Founder and President of Shepherd Thermoforming and Packaging Inc. in Brampton Ontario, Canada. After 15 years in the packaging industry he founded the thermoforming business, which now employs 40 people, includes custom design and tool making for both heavy and thin gauge manufacturing operations and is considered a leading company for thermoforming knowledge and innovation.

At 62 years of age he is COB of Shepherd and leaves operations management to his 2 boys. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Plastics Engineers for 12 years as the Division Technical Program Chair for Antec, Technical Chair on Conference Committees and on the Executive Committee. He is currently Technical Editor of the Thermoforming Quarterly and takes a great interest in the advancement of the Thermoforming Industry. Barry also gives technical seminars and speaks to entrepreneurial classes at the University level.
